Introduction

Over the years, I’ve read many books and watched numerous English and Hindi films. Friends and family often ask me to share my thoughts and reviews on some of my favorite books and movies. During the pandemic, I had the chance to catch up on a lot of reading and revisit many films, both in English and Hindi. So, I’ve decided to start this blog to review some of the best books and the film adaptations made from them, in both languages.

A few years ago, I wrote about 22 episodes on the subject of Hindi film music on WhatsApp. Many of you enjoyed it and encouraged me to continue writing and sharing my views, especially on my favorite subject—movies.

During the pandemic, I also watched all 100 films from the 100 Greatest American Movies of All Time list by the American Film Institute. While some were re-watches, I thoroughly enjoyed them and can say I liked at least 80 of the films.

My love for books and movies was strongly influenced by my mother. She was a convent graduate and an avid reader, always recommending great books and films. She would often take me along to watch movies she thought were worth seeing, shaping my taste from a young age.
